MindWise is pleased to be in partnership with PLIG, a network of support groups in the wider Northern Trust area which focuses on emotional wellbeing and suicide prevention within our local communities.
We're working closely with our PLIG partners to progress a wide range of local initiatives within the Northern Trust area to improve mental health and reduce the number of deaths by suicide. We want to encourage everyone to make positive choices, while empowering and building resilience for all age groups.
Developed in response to the Government’s Protect Life Suicide Prevention and Making Life
Better strategies, PLIG (The Northern Area Cross Sector Protect Life Implementation Group) are keen to spread the word that help is closer than we think and that there are wide resources available for those of us living in the Northern Trust area.
The importance of this new relationship cannot be underestimated in light of the difficult times Northern Ireland is living in, with the ongoing pandemic.
We want to encourage those of us who are struggling with our mental heath to reach out. The PLIG support groups are here and we are ready to respond individually and collectively, to help people access services appropriate to their needs and develop the skills to maintain positive mental health. We are hoping that the video below helps get this information out there to people within the wider Northern Trust communities.
