The Haven, Belfast

The Haven is a supported housing service which provides safe accommodation, care and support for 12 adults who are experiencing mental health issues.

The service is a home for life but also promotes independence, encouraging tenants to gain all the living skills required to live in their own homes. The service offers a person-centered approach to mental health and wellbeing, positively focusing on helping tenants to achieve life goals to help them improve and manage their mental health and wellbeing.

"When I moved in I bottled things up and didn't talk to anyone about my problems, now I know I can talk to any member of staff and they will help me."

The Haven

What we offer our tenants

The 24-hour supported housing service has a dedicated staff team and the referral process supports the discharge planning process for those in hospital, or those in the community who may be at risk of hospital readmission. Support and care is offered to achieve as much independence as possible.

Tenants have 24/7 access to the supportive staff team who are based there. There is also a full range of services available through the Community Mental Health Teams and community/day services, which is integrated into the service delivery.

Tenants can become involved in volunteering, work and social activities.

Areas we cover

The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust area.

How we’re funded

The service is funded by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and by NIHE through Housing Benefit and the Supporting People programme

How to access our service

Referrals are received from the Community Mental Health Teams.
