Shannon Clinic Patient Advocacy Service

We offer free independent and specialist advocacy, advice and information for people with mental health problems who are also detained patients in the regional forensic medium secure unit.

The aim of the service is to empower clients to reach greater independence and recovery through the use of advocacy. It is offered in order to help clients to achieve these goals.

Shannon Clinic Advocate Paul McMonagle explains how a Mental Health Advocate can help get your voice heard.

"“You speak up for me when I find it difficult and have shown that you are independent.”"

Areas we cover

The service is offered within Shannon Clinic which is a regional unit. Patients come from all trust areas in NI.
