MindWise South Down is proud to announce the continued success of its Intensive Tenancy Support Service, delivered in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE).
Between April 2024 and March 2026, the service has supported 141 tenants across the South Down area, helping individuals sustain their tenancies and live independently. The service provides proactive, tailored support focused on multiple aspects of daily living, including managing the home, maintaining health and wellbeing, addressing financial concerns, and navigating wider life challenges.
By putting individual needs at the centre of support, the service plays a vital role in preventing tenancy breakdown and reducing the risk of homelessness. Its success has had a meaningful impact not only on individuals, but also on the wider community.
As a result of this positive impact, we are delighted that NIHE has confirmed funding for a further two-year extension of the service. This will allow MindWise South Down to continue supporting people to improve their homes, health, and quality of life, contributing to healthier, more resilient communities across South Down.
We look forward to building on this success and supporting even more people in the years ahead.
