Client Stories

Our clients’ voices are at the heart of everything we do. Here, we share real stories from people with lived experience of mental health challenges - their journeys, insights, and hopes for the future. Each story is unique, but together they show the strength, resilience, and community that define MindWise. We’re grateful to everyone who shares their story to help inspire understanding, connection, and change.

Gavin’s Story

Before discovering volunteering, Gavin McAllister often felt like an outsider. After being diagnosed with ASD at 33, he found purpose and confidence through volunteering with MindWise, an experience he describes as life-changing. Starting out as a volunteer photographer, Gavin began capturing moments that mattered and, in the process, discovered new opportunities, confidence, and community.
