Talking Therapies involve communication-based methods for assessing, diagnosing, and treating emotional, cognitive, and behavioural issues. These therapies are conducted between a trained mental health professional and one client. Common types of talking therapies include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. These evidence-based interventions provide a safe, confidential space to explore and understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and to develop coping skills.

How to access Talking Therapies 

Referrals

MindWise Talking Therapies can be accessed through various pathways:

  • Referral through your GP
  • Through your employer
  • Direct contact if you wish to self-fund
  • 11-18s through our WiseTalking project

Self Funding

If you wish to access MindWise Talking Therapies, we can offer this service in person near your home/workplace depending on your location and availability of our therapists, at our Head Office in Belfast or remotely via telephone or video platforms. We will assign you a trained Therapist and advise you about costs and payment methods when you make contact. However if we are fortunate to have a Therapist in Training with us at the time, we can offer sessions with them at a reduced rate.

Coaching

Coaching is a transformative journey of self-discovery, goal setting, and growth. With a dedicated coach by your side, you can navigate challenges, set meaningful goals, and cultivate strategies for success.

  • 45-50 minute sessions
  • Can be in person or remote
  • No limit on number of sessions
  • All coaches accredited through EMCC
  • Graduates of our Dip Health & Wellbeing Coaching will provide this model of support
