The Forge

The Forge service is based in Kilkeel. We deliver housing support in the local area to individuals experiencing mental ill health.

The aim of the service is to continue to promote independence and inclusion in the local community, and to support our tenants to live fulfilling and meaningful lives, while reducing stigma associated with mental ill health.

What offer our tenants

Structured support is offered to all tenants.  Tenants are expected to receive support via, 1:1 or group activity, key-work sessions, person centred support plans and reviews.

We’re an active service and we encourage our tenants to get involved in walking activities and several other activities that support and promote positive physical and mental health.

We also engage with other local organisations to provide arts and crafts based activities that are normally seasonal.  Our service has great relationships in the Kilkeel area and has good influence for fundraising opportunities, including our Annual Sponsored Walk.

Tenants have their say in 1:1, group situations, monthly tenants meetings and Service Advisory Groups.

"There are plenty of things to do here with plenty of support. I am settled and happy living here."
