Adult colouring in books have hit the Amazon top seller lists and for good reason! Colouring can help reduce stress and anxiety.

Colouring for adults has been proven to be a great way to take your mind away from the stresses in life and focus on the task in hand,
“staying in between the lines”. It creates peace and tranquillity and is a new method of taking control of your mental health.

To get technical, Gloria Martinez Ayala, a psychologist explains to us in more detail the science behind it all,

"When colouring, we activate different areas of our two cerebral hemispheres. The action involves both logic, by which we colour forms, and
creativity, when mixing and matching colours. This incorporates the areas of the cerebral cortex involved in vision and fine motor skills
[coordination necessary to make small, precise movements]. The relaxation that it provides lowers the activity of the amygdala, a basic part
of our brain involved in controlling emotion that is affected by stress."

So why don’t you give it a go, when feeling stressed or brought down by the pressures around you, hoke out your crayons and colouring
