MindWise, the independent mental health charity for Northern Ireland will be officially launched today (Tuesday 29 September) at an official reception in Hillsborough Castle. Local charity, MindWise is urging the public to show their support for all those in Northern Ireland currently living with mental illness as part of World Mental Health Day 2009 which takes place on 10th October 2009 by wearing a MindWise supporter badge with pride. 1 in 4 local people will be affected by mental illness or a disorder of some form at any one time, this can include psychiatric conditions such as Schizophrenia and Bi-Polar Disorder, or other mental health conditions such as self-harming, post-natal depression or eating disorders. 21st September 2009Local Golfers Tee-Off for MindWise
Carrickfergus Golf Club kindly hosted the MindWise annual golf competition on Wednesday 19th August 2009. Raymond Gray, a local taxi driver, organises the event on behalf of MindWise and one other local charity every year. Jackie and Robin McCaughey the Northern Ireland regional representatives of the Ford and Fordson Association will be holding their annual Indoor Tractor Show on 16th and 17th October 2009 and all profits raised will be donated to help support the work of the local mental health charity, MindWise. The show will be held at the Trummery Sales Arena in Moira. (exiting from the M1 at the Moira Roundabout that the road signposted for Lisburn and take the 1st turn to the right and then take the laneway to the right just past the Tile Shop). |
