Local man Seamus Mullan who is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the local mental MindWise recently raised £456 for the charity’s funds at his 60th Birthday party fundraiser held in Kilkeel Golf Club on 31st October 2009.

16th November 2009Take to your festive feet for Charity Santa Stroll
Newtownabbey residents are being asked to take to their festive feet and join in the Mayor’s Charity Santa Stroll taking place on 11th December 2009 starting at 12.30pm. The 3km walk has been organised by the council’s Sports and Play Development section in aid of the Mayor’s 3 nominated charities, Make-a-Wish, Northern Ireland Hospice and MindWise.

Today sees the start of year long charity partnership between the Ballyhackamore branch of Marks & Spencer and the local mental health charity, MindWise. MindWise offers support and services to individuals from across Northern Ireland who are affected by severe mental illness and other mental health difficulties. The services offered by the charity include; supported housing, community resource centres, carer services, training and employment services, community bridge building and volunteer programmes. |
