MindWise call for help with Charity Collection
MindWise is calling for help with two charity collections which will take place in the Randalstown area on Friday 18th June 2010 and Saturday 19th June 2010.
The collections are part of the Traction Engine Club of Ulster Ltd’s (TECU) annual road run event. The TECU have chosen MindWise as their charity partner for 2010 and will be engaging in a range of events throughout the year to raise funds for the cause.
The Road Run on the Friday evening starts at 6.30pm from Whiteside’s Road in Randalstown and the Road Run on the Saturday morning starts at 11.00am from Taughey Road, Randalstown.
Geoff Scott, MindWise’s Public Affairs Manager is calling on members of the public to give a few hours of their time to volunteer at either or both events. He said “Unlike some other causes, the issue of mental illness does not often get the financial support that others would, therefore we are delighted to have this opportunity to raise much needed funds and I hope members of the public will sign up to help us raise as much money as possible. As many as 1 in 4 local people are affected by mental illness and like any charity, we need to raise funds to continue offering services to those people. The more members of the public that can come along to help us for an hour or two the better”.
If you are over 16 and would like to give a few hours to help collect at these events, please contact Geoff Scott at MindWise Head Office either by telephoning 02890 402323 or you can email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
